The FMJ amplifier is our flagship product and the culmination of 10 years of building amplifiers and effects. 

It combines a 5.7 Watt Class A EL84 tube power amp with a clean-biased, high voltage EF86 tube preamp to create a single channel, ultra high fidelity amplifier designed for players who get most of their sounds from their pedals.

 

The amplifier features an 8 ohm speaker output and controls for tone and volume.  The tone and volume controls are placed between the preamp and power amp for maximum flexibility, allowing the preamp and power amp to be driven at different levels.  The tone control rolls off the frequency response from flat to very bass oriented.

 

The FMJ stands less than 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall and can fit on top of and power any size cabinet from a 1x8 to a 4x12 with ease and plenty of volume, enough for recording, home playing, or even garage band setups.  The 5.7 Watt designation is deceiving as class A amps sound much louder than their solid state counterparts.

 

The FMJ name stems from its design; Instead of having the transformers and tubes protrude from the enclosure, which would require an outer shell, the FMJ houses all components inside a die-cast aluminum shell, or "full metal jacket".  The chevron-style cooling vents machined on the lid protect the tubes from the users touch and vice versa.

 

Production is limited to seasonal batches, and all units are wired, assembled, machined and powder coated in-house or locally.  Haramis custom knobs complete the package with a style reminiscent of vintage militaria and golden age Americana.   A blend of design and technology, the FMJ exudes warmth in its sound and its presence.
